Tillis in ''infrastructure bill'' guts ''buy American'' rules | Eastern NC Now

The $1.2 trillion "infrastructure" bill which Thom Tillis helped negotiate and voted for, is in effect a "buy Chinese (or at least foreign)'' bill.  In line with Biden's pro-China policies, it guts the "buy American" provisions that were in spending bills under President Trump.

In the first part of the bill, there is a deceptive "buy American" provision, but as one reads through the specific provisions of the bill, there is language, again and again, exempting the actual spending programs from that provision.  When Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) started offering amendments to delete some of those exemptions, Democrat leader Chuck Schumer moved to cut off any more amendments, and Thom Tillis was among the fake Republican renegades who stood with Schumer and voted to cut off amendments.

So what is left is a toothless and fake "buy American" provision that most specific spending programs are exempted from further on in the bill.  This must please Hunter Biden and Mitch McConnell's buddies in Beijing, but it hurts American companies and American workers.  And Thom Tillis should be ashamed of himself for facilitating this assault on American companies and workers.  It also makes one wonder about the globalist US Chamber of Commerce's support of this bill.
