New Apple surveillance technology is huge privacy threat to users | Eastern NC Now

will allow your iphone to spy on you

Apple is close to rolling out new software for its iphones that will have them run searches on users content and report back to the company.  Initially, that will be limited to photos on their cloud and searches for child pornography, but the system can easily be expanded to look for other things.  While most would support in prinicple, fighting child pornography,  creating an ability for such searches of users systems creates a very dangerous precedent for user privacy.

The danger is explained in detail in this article:  https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/all-seeing-i-apple-just-declared-war-your-privacy

So what is the alternative?  Google, the evil company behind the Android, makes collection and sale of user data a part of its business model.  They have never been a friend to user privacy.  The Gab-phone, which is expected to be rolled out soon by free speech social media platform Gab, may be an answer, as it will essentially be an Android minus anything and everything Google.  Otherwise, if you value your privacy, it may be necessary to stick with a trusty flip phone.
