Letter to Senator Tom Tillis | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Dear Senator Tillis:

    Dare County Republicans have faithfully served our nation under the premise that strong local government is the key foundation to preserving our American freedoms. The success of our efforts as faithful Republicans living out this truth has resulted in the complete reversal of decades of Democrat Party control in Dare County. These incredible gains and results are now at risk of being lost. Many in our party are struggling to understand the behavior and actions of fellow "Republicans" at the federal level. This is in addition to the unfolding madness led by the Biden Administration, which will ultimately turn our amazing results here "null-and-void."

    We understand that you receive numerous letters from constituents throughout the great state of North Carolina but this one is different. Our concerns carry the weight of a decade of clear and impactful results defeating the opposition. Dare County now stands tall as a deeply conservative and patriotic region holding dear the unique freedoms embodied in our constitution. We believe our constitutional way of life frees the human soul from serfdom and servitude enabling the pursuit of a peaceful life of liberty and happiness. We stand in shock as our own government now seeks to strip away our God given rights. From where we stand it appears that our party leadership at the national level is afraid to stand up to heinous efforts to destroy our free way of life. We the People of Dare County are the American sovereign, and we have a right to petition our government due to a long list of building grievances. These include, but are not limited to:

    • The Federal government refuses to close and control the border endangering those who cross and those who live here.

    • A failed National Security Policy has wasted the opportunity for an orderly withdrawal from Afghanistan.

    • Utter failure dealing with all policy related to public health and infectious disease.

    • Disastrous decisions to once again cripple the American economy following the false narrative that fossil fuels are only bad as justification to close projects and shutter domestic sources of fuel.

    Through your inaction you risk becoming complicit with a movement that does not believe in the unified and free America. Instead, the opposition has metastasized into a hateful mob that has most terrifyingly weaponized the government for use against its own citizens. This is madness. This is wrong. This must stop.

    It would be different if this letter came from a single citizen, although we believe that a single American citizen embodies exactly what the founders intended. No, this letter is different because it comes from a determined group of American citizens who have spent years of toil and task and treasure to fight for the American way of life. This letter is different because we stood up to ineptitude, cronyism, and "politics-as-usual" to ensure our way of life is preserved for the next generation.

    As part of this fight, we ask that our representatives in Washington, DC vigorously advocate for the resignation of Joe Biden. His policies are doing irreparable harm to our country. Your advocacy should include proclamations on social media, interviews, speeches on the floor of U.S. Congress and private discussions to persuade Sen Mitch McConnell to demand President Biden resign the Presidency. This effort is to be fought in the public square AND behind closed doors. There should be no attempts at bipartisanship with the Biden administration until our southern border is secured. We implore you to fight to stop the madness that is unfolding in our country due to Joe Biden's blatant ineptitude.

    The Dare County GOP members feel strongly about this effort and would be extremely disappointed if there is no action on your part. We, the Dare County GOP, request, and would appreciate, a written response that we can share with our full membership.
