I am a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Elizabeth City. I am a regular usher and lecture.
I have been active in politics for over 25 yrs. Worked on several political campaigns in Virginia., local and statewide.
I served on the Board of Directors for the Tidewater Builders Assoc as well as the Board of the United Way Family Center. I served on the Legislative Committee of the Virginia Home Builders Assoc for 5 yrs during which time I provided Sworn Testimony to relevant Committees of the Virginia General Assembly. I lobbied for legislation on matters of importance where the Legislative Committees were considering laws that affected the Home Building Industry, pro or con.
I authored and presented proposed Legislation regarding Workers Comp Insurance that was introduced by an Elected Legislator and which was ultimately signed by Gov. Robb. This Legislation is still on the books in Virginia to this day.
In 2010, I was the Republican Candidate for election to the NC House from District 1 against a Democrat Candidate named Bill Owens who had been in the Legislature for 16 yrs by then and was #3 in the Democrat Leadership in the House. I lost by just 1150 votes in a 4 County District.
In 2014 I ran against an incumbent for Pasquotank Co Commissioner. I won the County Vote but the Elizabeth City vote was extraordinarily large and I was defeated.
I am also a member of Al Pam Republican Club, The Pasquotank GOP and a previous member of the NE Commission, as I was appointed by the governor.
