VA judge sides with parents on school board recall over CRT | Eastern NC Now

Parents want pro-CRT board member OUT

ENCNow

A Virginia judge has issued a ruling in favor of an anti-CRT parents group seeking to recall a pro-CRT school board member in Loudon County.

The parents already have the necessary petition signatures.  Under Virginia law, the recall does not go to the voters like in most states. The local prosecutor is required to prosecute the recall case to a judge who then rules on whether to recall the elected official.  In this case, the petition cites some extreme behavior by the school board member as grounds for recall.  The prosecutor who was supposed to take up the case, however, is a vocal supporter of CRT, so the parents group successfully had the regular prosecutor removed from the case and a special prosecutor favorable to the parents appointed as a replacement.
