Japan - another Covid success story with almost no lockdown | Eastern NC Now

another light touch country shows lockdowns unnecessary

ENCNow

With its almost toothless "light touch" states of emergency over Covid, Japan's policies were only a little more restrictive than Sweden, and like Sweden, it is a Covid success story.  Japan has never had anything remotely close to a lockdown.  It's government expressed open distain for the World Health Organization, which Japan's deputy prime minister had declared should be renamed the Chinese Health Organization.  Now its Covid cases have all but evaporated, with the region with the most cases, Tokyo going from reporting 6,000 new cases per day two months ago to less than 100 per day this week.  Its restaurants, theatres, bars, trains, and other public places are packed.  Best of all, its economy has kept on track, giving it a leg up on those places that killed their economies with lockdowns.

When will NC tyrant Roy Cooper look at the real facts?
