Wind turbines and hurricanes make electric grid vulnerable | Eastern NC Now

Wind turbines cannot handle high winds

ENCNow

North Carolina's Green New Deal, HB951, imposed on us by a coalition of Roy Cooper and NC legislative RINOs such as Phil Berger and Jim Perry will make our state's electric supply much more vulnerable to hurricanes because it will greatly increase reliance on wind turbines.  Wind turbines cannot handle high winds and the time to replace damaged turbines is counted in months.

North Dakota does not have hurricanes, but even what passes for high winds there is wrecking havoc on wind turbines as a local TV station there explains:

The state of South Australia discovered the same thing when their wind turbines failed during the winds of strong Spring storms, causing the state's only statewide blackout a few years ago.  That time the winds were not strong enough to destroy many turbines but they did cause multiple wind farms to automatically shut down, which cascaded through the grid causing a total statewide blackout.  South Australia was at the time reliant on wind and solar for less than 50% of its electricity.  HB951 will saddle NC for an even higher amount.

Roy Cooper and Joe Biden are particularly fond of offshore wind turbines, that are even more vulnerable to hurricanes.  These mindless politicians, including the NC legislative RINOs, will make power loss during hurricanes much more extensive and long lasting.  The NC RINOs should pay at the polls in the primaries for what they have done to us.
