Rain forests being destroyed for materials for wind mills | Eastern NC Now

Environmentalists have long called the Amazon rain forests the "lungs of the planet", yet the demands of their climate alarmist faction are now causing massive deforestation in those very rain forests.  Balsa wood is being harvested on a vast scale for use in making wind turbine blades.  The following video tells the tale:

This is hardly the only deforestation caused by the wind turbine industry.  Wind farms require lots of land and that leads to massive deforestation.  According to calculations by Forestry Scotland, a government agency, 13.1 million trees have been destroyed just in Scotland to build wind farms.  In Germany, the Green Party led government in the state of Baden-Wurttemburg has decreed that lots more wind turbines need to be built and targeted clear-cutting swaths of the famed Black Forest to build them.

Recent massive floods in northwestern Germany were blamed on "climate change" by the climate alarmists, but the real culprit was deforestation to build wind and solar farms.  Deforestation causes more rapid runoff and thus worse flooding.

Climate alarmists claim to be fighting CO2, but deforestation is a mighty strange way to do that because the photosynthesis process in plants, and particularly large plants like trees, soaks up huge quantities of CO2.  When those trees are gone, they are no longer soaking up that CO2.
