When Will North Carolina Require Photo ID To Vote? | Eastern NC Now

Here's what happens next

It happened to me again - twice in one week. I had to show photo identification for two common transactions: one financial and one medical. The experience reminded me that voter ID still hasn't taken effect here in North Carolina, despite voters having approved a constitutional amendment that would require ID. In 2018, that amendment passed easily. If you're wondering what gives, the answer can be boiled down to one word: lawsuits.

On "Front Row with Marc Rotterman," Locke's Mitch Kokai offered a short and valuable primer on what to expect for voter ID in 2022.

there's still a lot of action to be determined before anyone has to use voter ID

Photo voter ID is international best practice for election integrity. With recent adoption by the UK, it is now used nationally in the elections of all developed countries in the world except for the US, as well as in many less developed countries. The American far left largely stands alone in the world in opposing it. It is appalling that some US courts stand to the far left in not allowing this honest election practice of photo voter ID.
