Sinking Fast: New Poll Shows Biden’s Disapproval At Whopping 56% | Eastern North Carolina Now

A new CNBC and Change Research poll of voters surveyed between December 17-20 found that President Biden's disapproval numbers have soared to a whopping 56%; the worst of his presidency. The same poll found Biden's disapproval numbers at 49% last April and rose to 54% in September.

"More than half (56%) of voters disapprove of the job President Biden is doing as president and are giving him a "C" or "D" in all areas on his report card, virtually the same as Donald Trump's lowest ratings in 2020 CNBC and Change Research polling," CNBC reported.

As opposed to one year ago, when 56% of voters felt the U.S. economy was in "poor" or "not so good shape," that number has risen to 73% in the latest poll. 72% of voters disapproved of Biden's handling of the price of everyday goods; 56% of voters felt Biden should receive little to no credit for the jobs that have been added since he took office. A paltry 21% of voters felt Biden's American Rescue Plan helped them while 29% said it left them worse off.

"The margin of error as traditionally calculated is 2.3% and the modeled margin of error for this survey is 3.1%, which uses effective sample sizes that adjust for the design effect of weighting," CNBC pointed out.

"A USA Today/Suffolk University poll taken December 27-30 showed only 40 per cent of registered voters approve of Biden's job as president while 54 per cent disapprove," The Daily Mail noted.

"Axios reported last week that a new poll reveals more than half of American adults are 'fearful for what the year 2022 holds in store for both the U.S. (51%) and the world (54%)," The Daily Wire reported this week. Axios stated:

While Republicans were more pessimistic than Democrats and independents both years, all three groups turned more negative in this year's survey, with 69% of Republicans, 45% of Democrats and 47% of independents saying they were more fearful than hopeful. In addition, 51% said they were more fearful than hopeful about what's in store for the U.S. in 2022, including 66% of Republicans, 41% of Democrats and 46% of independents.

CNN reported in mid-December that Biden's economic approval ratings were worse than former Democrat President Jimmy Carter, noting:

Carter's economic net approval rating of -8 points in an early January 1978 CBS News/New York Times poll was the lowest around this point in a presidency before Biden's -13 points. The economy, and particularly inflation, was listed as the nation's top problem in a late October 1977 Gallup poll. ...

Inflation, in particular, seems to be a big issue for Biden. Just 28% of Americans approved of the job he is doing to handle inflation in a recent ABC News/Ipsos poll. This comes as more voters said they were concerned about inflation than any other issue in a December Fox News poll, and only 22% said the Biden's administration efforts to get inflation and rising prices under control were helping. The plurality (47%) said they were hurting.
