NBA’s Tristan Thompson Confirms Paternity In Cheating Scandal; Allegedly Pressured Mistress To Have Abortion | Eastern NC Now

    Following a paternity test, NBA player Tristan Thompson this week fessed up to being the father of a child he has denied, culminating a very public cheating scandal concerning reality star Khloé Kardashian, with whom the athlete has a three-year-old daughter.

    Personal trainer Maralee Nichols, with whom Thompson has previously admitted to having sex, is suing the basketball player for child support. She has also claimed that Thompson pressured her to abort their child and promised her she would not get any money from him or his support if she went through with having their kid, providing alleged text messages between the two to court.

    "I take full responsibility for my actions," Thompson wrote in an Instagram story published Monday. "Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son. I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal, both publicly and privately."

    "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you," he shared with his millions of followers. "You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you." He added, "I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."

    As highlighted by Page Six, Nichols has been adamant that Thompson is the father of her baby, way before a paternity test confirmed as much. She has also claimed the NBA player pressured her to abort the baby.

    "It is also apparent from the context and substance of these communications that they are from Tristan to Maralee, which reflects that Tristan is addressing the parties' relationship, and even with respect to her pregnancy insisting that she get an abortion and threatening that she will get next to nothing with lesser support requirements in Texas," court documents read.

    A text allegedly sent from Thompson says in part, "You know how I feel. My feelings haven't changed at all. Won't be involved at all. [By the way,] if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money, It's completely wrong."

    The report noted that Thompson and Nichols had sex while he was in a relationship with Kardashian.

    Kardashian has yet to publicly address the situation, but Nichols gave a statement to Page Six on Tuesday.

    "There was never any doubt that Tristan Thompson was the father of Maralee Nichols' baby," the statement said. "Tristan made numerous false and defamatory statements and declarations about Maralee over the past few months, and she is taking his contrite statement today in the context of all of those statements."
