blunders by RINO legislative leaders set us up with bad NC Supreme Court | Eastern NC Now

redistricting in danger

ENCNow

As redistricting goes before a 4 to 3 state Supreme Court, whose Democrat majority includes far left radical Anita Earls, who is virtually a communist, the blame for the court being in that posture is entirely on airheaded and incompetent RINO legislative leaders and the way they set up the 2016 and 2018 Supreme Court elections.  If the court goes rogue with radical gerrymandering on behalf of the Democrats, it will be the fault of Berger, Moore, and their lieutenants.

Lets start with 2018 when incumbent conservative Republican Barbara Jackson lost to radical Anita Earls, which was caused by the screwy way the ballot was set up.  There was no primary.  Instead, every candidate who filed had their party affiliation listed.  The Democrats took advantage of this screwball arrangement by running a ringer as a fake Republican, dividing the GOP vote because many average voters did not know the ringer was a ringer.  They just looked at the party label on the ballot.  If the votes for both "Republican" candidates were combined, Anita Earls would have lost in spite of the $250,000 radical Eric Holder gave her.

How did the ballot end up like that?  Phil Berger was playing around with some changes at the Superior Court level, which he never had went forward on, and let the clock run out on setting up primaries.  His just listing the party affiliation on the ballot was his substitute, although many conservatives warned him how this scheme would end up.  The House leadership failed to stand up, too.

So the loss of the Jackson seat lies squarely at the feet of an idiot move by Senate President Phil Berger.  The loss of the Bob Edmunds seat in 2016, however, lay squarely at the feet of the RINO House leadership around Tim Moore.

Edmunds' political consultant, RINO Paul Shumaker, had asked the legislative leadership to make his candidate's Supreme Court race non-partisan, even though the legislation going through made the Court of Appeals races partisan.  Moore's top lieutenant chaired the Elections committee and made sure Shumaker got what he wanted, a non-partisan race.  This was done over the objection of conservative legislators like Rep. Mike Speciale (R-Craven) who insisted the Supreme Court race ought to the partisan, too.

When the votes were counted, every statewide judicial race that had a party label, all five Court of Appeals races, went Republican.  Only in the non-partisan Supreme Court race did a Democrat challenger take out the GOP incumbent.  When voters could identify candidates with their party, they voted Republican, but when they could not, they guessed and the Republican lost.

This is yet another example of why we need new leadership in both House and Senate.  We now have a Supreme Court that could easily go rogue on us and cram down a horrible Democrat gerrymander, especially with far left extremist Anita Earls as part of the majority.  Radical Eric Holder is the prime mover in the redistricting case, and Holder gave Anita Earls $250,000 in her 2018 campaign.  Corrupt Anita Earls is not only a far leftist herself, but she is bought and paid for by the main group challenging redistricting.  She has absolutely zero integrity because she will not recuse herself despite this massive conflict of interest.
