Freedom Convoy surrounds Finland's parliament, demands gov't resign | Eastern North Carolina Now

Finland's very own Freedom Convoy has surrounded the Finnish parliament in Helsinki and demanded the resignation of the country's center-left government, the permanent end of all Covid restrictions, and cutting fuel taxes in half.  The police have arrested over 50 people and started to tow away trucks, but tires are being slashed on police tow trucks.

Finland's government had recently ended most Covid restrictions, but the truckers and their supporters are concerned that they did it in a way that they could easily be reimposed, so their demand is a permanent end for them.  The center-left government had also raised fuel taxes in a "save the planet" crusade, and the truckers want that reversed both for diesel and for gasoline.

Towing trucks failed in Canada.  When the police called for tow trucks to end a blockade of a border crossing in Alberta, the tow trucks arrived but then joined in the blockade.  Then farmers arrived on tractors and broke through police lines to also join the blockade.  In Ottawa, when police tried to call tow trucks, every tow truck company, in an apparently coordinated move, said they could not come because they had Covid.
