Captured Russian soldiers call themselves cannon fodder for regime | Eastern NC Now

Captured Russian soldiers are making videos that describe how they were not told what they were going to do in Ukraine, and how they are being used as cannon fodder by their regime, with many of them dying.  As one phrased it "everyone is going in columns and they all die".  Another complained that "they do not even pick up the corpses".  Others admitted they were openly attacking civilians.

Morale among the Russian troops is clearly very low while it remains high among the Ukrainians.  Deaths among Russian invaders are approaching 6,000.  Russian soldiers including entire units are sometimes surrendering without even a fight.

One can only hope that Russian troops mutiny against the regime as they did in World War I.

Foreigners with military experience are volunteering to help Ukraine.  The latest is 70 Japanese nationals, most veterans of the country's Self Defense Forces (army) who have volunteered to come to Ukraine to fight.  Japan is still technically at war with Russia, having never signed a post-WWII peace treaty.
