Nigel Farage launches movement to end UK's ''ruinous'' green agenda | Eastern NC Now

''Mr. Brexit'' seeks referendum of the British people on ''green'' agenda

ENCNow

The guiding light of the Brexit movement, Nigel Farage is back with another quest, this time seeking to end the UK's ''green agenda'' which he says is ruinous for the country.  His new Britain Means Business organization is pushing for a referendum of the British people on whether to pursue Boris Johnson's green agenda.  Polls show that the British people want an opportunity to vote on that subject and not leave it to government dictates.

Farage is pointing to the energy dislocations resulting from both long term wind droughts and geopolitical conflict that have sent energy prices through the roof.  He wants to see Britain exploit its coal as an energy source, develop its offshore oil and gas, and allow fracking of the UK's proven shale gas reserves.  He wants to deemphasize the expensive and unreliable wind turbines.  He wants to end Boris Johnson's "net zero" policy.

Richard Tice, a former member of the EU parliament who leads the UK's new Reform Party has joined Farage in his efforts.  Tice has long referred to Net Zero as "Net Stupid".
