newest Russian war crime - bombing care home for the disabled | Eastern NC Now

independent analysts say Russia has lost more armored vehicles than German army posseses

The latest war crime by Putin's Russian forces is the shelling of a care home for the disabled near Kharkiv in northern Ukraine, destroying the building and killing and injuring residents. Of the 330 residents, 63 have been evacuated and the fate of the other 267 is unknown.  This follows shortly on the Russian bombing of a maternity hospital in eastern Ukraine.  According to the Ukrainian government, Russia has now killed more civilians than it has Ukrainian soldiers.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has ambushed another Russian tank column that was advancing on Kiev, causing heavy casualties, including another senior Russian commander, and forcing their retreat.  In Chernihiv, a Ukrainian counterattack broke the Russian siege lines of the city, recapturing five villages.  Independent analysts say that based on visual confirmation, Russia has already lost more armored vehicles in their invasion of Ukraine than are possessed by the entire German army.  Ukraine give Russian losses at 12,000 killed, 350 tanks, 125 artillery units and 1150 armored personnel carriers destroyed and 60 aircraft and 80 helicopters downed.  Ominously, recently captured Russian soldiers have been equipped with gas masks, something not seen earlier.
