New study - green energy will double VA electric bills by 2030 if not reversed | Eastern NC Now

Gov. Youngkin on board to change law but faces Dem Senate majority

ENCNow

Virginia's draconian Clean Economy Act, passed by the Democrats, will double electric rates for the state's consumers by 2030 if it is not repealed or revised according to a new study.  Given the experiences of other places that have gone headlong into wind and solar electricity, it could well be even worse.  Governor Youngkin campaigned against the high cost and lack of reliability of wind and solar, and has already issued an executive order to do what is in his power to protect consumers, but to drive a stake in the heart of this monster will require legislation, and on that he faces a one seat Democrat majority in the State Senate.

High energy prices will also make Virginia an undesirable place to do business, and cost jobs, as was the experience of the Canadian province of Ontario when they went hog wild on wind and solar.

As is too often the case, the state utility monopoly is "woke" and has no interest in cheap and reliable conventional energy like nuclear and hydro, even though the latter is also classed as "renewable".

North Carolina faces the same energy disaster thanks to RINOs pushing through Biden's energy plan or NC's Green New Deal in HB951.
