Ukraine retakes entire Kyiv region in counterattacks | Eastern NC Now

Ukrainian counterattacks have pushed the Russian invaders out of the entire Kyiv region, as Ukrainian ambushes have turned highways into tank graveyards of destroyed Russian equipment.  In many instances Russians have left mines and booby traps that are a threat to civilians as well as military.  In one village, Ukrainian troops found Ukrainian civilians with their hands tied behind their backs and shot by Russians.  This follows numerous first hand accounts of rapes and gang rapes of Ukrainian women and girls by Russian soldiers.  British intelligence sources say one reason Russia is having equipment problems is that they imported a number of critical systems for their weaponry from Ukraine, but after the Russian seizure of Crimea, Ukraine quit exporting them.  Russia's stockpiles are gone and they have no new source for those parts.

Meanwhile, the British government has announced it is sending Ukraine heavy artillery and anti-ship missiles.  Last week, the UK delivered a shipment of advanced Starstreak anti-aircraft missiles, and they saw their first use in combat to shoot down a Russian helicopter in the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine.

Meanwhile a British reporter describes the toll for Ukrainian civilians in Russian occupied Kherson and reports that the Russians have become more vicious toward Ukrainian civilians since the Russian advance petered out.  Ukrainian activists and sometimes their entire families including children have been snatched in the middle of the night and "disappeared" by the Russians.
