Eva “Zorada” Wright Knapp | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Eva "Zorada" Wright Knapp, age 89, a resident of River Road, Washington, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

    A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Wanoca Presbyterian Church in Washington, conducted by Pastor Travis Boyd.

    Mrs. Knapp was born in Beaufort County on December 12, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Walter Scott Wright and Permelia Mason Wright. Mrs. Knapp worked as clerk at Lu-Henries' Shoe Store. She was a member of Wanoca Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Knapp participated in the Senior Games in Greenville, winning several medals. In her spare time, she enjoyed making crafts, floral arrangements, scrap books, and coloring books. Mrs. Knapp loved to travel, especially up and down the East Coast, and going on cruises. She was a good card player, especially playing Yahtzee and Gin Rummy.

    Mrs. Knapp was married to Ray Hunter Everette, who preceded her in death. Later, she married Donald C. Knapp, who survives. They shared 38 beautiful years of marriage together.

    Surviving with her husband are her daughter, Judy E. Hodges and her fiancé, Bennie Bright, Sr. of Washington; son, Dale Hunter Everette and wife, Libbie Williams Everette of Washington; five grandchildren, Stephanie Hodges Alligood and husband, Michael, Heather Dawn Hartley and husband, David Howard Hartley, Jr., Anna Marie Everette, Howard Ray Everette, Scott Hunter Everett and wife, Pam Everette all of Washington; six great grandchildren, Lincoln Riley Alligood, Nolan Caffrey Alligood, Emily Lauren Everette, Gavin Scott Everette, Hunter Allen Everette, Holden Reed Leggett and her beloved cat, Prissy.

    In addition to her parents and her first husband, Mrs. Knapp was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Everette, great grandson, Hunter Lee Leggett, and her siblings.

    The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Judy Hodges, 6317 River Road, Washington.
