Frankie Waters goes full cancel culture against Deatherage | Eastern NC Now

Waters uses position to try to financially damage Deatherage's company

ENCNow

The far left has been instigating "cancel culture" against conservatives or indeed anyone who disagrees with their narrative.  They try to economically and personally destroy those who do not fall in line with their world view.  This is a vile and un-American tactic.

Those who attended the Beaufort County Republican Party candidate forum witnessed RINO Commission chairman Frankie Waters launch the second prong of his cancel culture attack against fellow commissioner Stan Deatherage's business.   Although Waters is usually taking his cues from Jerry Langley, the godfather of the commission coalition, the utter hate in Waters voice indicated this was personal.

Waters was attacking the contract between Deatherage's company and the school board, falsely calling it a conflict of interest.  The point was to intimidate the school board to give the business to someone else.  Deatherage already had legal opinions from several high placed attorneys who advise local governments on ethics and conflict of interest that his contracting for internet services with county government was NOT a conflict of interest unless he participated in the decision making on it.  That would hold true even more for the schools.

Hopefully, the school board will be strong enough to ignore this pressure from Waters, who as chairman of the county commission has influence on how much the county budgets for schools.

Prong one of Waters' cancel culture attack on Deatherage is already a done deal.  Deatherage's company was low bidder for the county's internet service business by about $30,000.  Again Deatherage had high powered legal opinions that there was no conflict of interest unless he participated in the actual decision making.  To push Deatherage out of this contract, Waters' cabal had their in-house Democrat hack lawyer Dave "San" Francisco disagree with the high powered Raleigh lawyers. This is the same Francisco who will actually weigh in to debate on policy against conservative elected commissioners.  Sadly, our county no longer has the honesty and objectivity of long time county attorney Billy Mayo in that position.  The whole cabal had to be in on this cancel culture move, which cost county taxpayers $30,000 just so the RINO/Democrat cabal could lower the cancel culture boom on Deatherage.  That taxpayers have to pay $30,000 as a result of this vile cancel culture move should anger all taxpayers.

The pettiness and vindictiveness of Frankie Waters in employing cancel culture tactics against those who disagree with him politically makes him unfit for office.

So, if the school board knuckles under to Frankie Waters' pressure, the odds will be that taxpayers will take another hit of about the same amount, meaning we will be ripped off for a total of about $60,000 just to feed Frankie Waters' petty personal little war with Stan Deatherage? Waters' behavior is outrageous. Are the alternatives local or out of town? If this is taking business from a local company and giving it to someone out of town it is even more outrageous.

Government contracts should be on a low bid basis as long as the bidders are competent. Anything else is a fraud on taxpayers. Political bias should not enter into the equation.
