Oops! Poll shows SCOTUS draft Roe leak will help GOP turnout | Eastern NC Now

One of the theories behind the illegal leaking of the draft opinion on abortion  was that it was intended to boost Democrat voter turnout for the midterm elections.  Polls have been showing much more voter enthusiasm among Republican voters than Democrat voters.  However a new poll shows just the opposite is likely to happen, as the leak and the overturning of Roe v. Wade will give Republicans a bigger voter enthusiasm, and therefore turnout boost than Democrats.

The poll by CNN shows that since the leak of the draft SCOTUS opinion, Democrat voter enthusiasm is up 7 points, but Republican voter enthusiasm, already high, was up by 9 points.  Among those who said they were happy with the ruling, 38% say they are extremely enthusiastic about voting while among those who say they are angry about the ruling, 20% say they are extremely enthusiastic about voting.
