McCrory lies again on Ted Budd - this time on building the border wall | Eastern North Carolina Now

McCrory has been serial liar during campaign

ENCNow

McCrory and his surrogates have come up with a new lie to use against Senate frontrunner Ted Budd.  The failed RINO former governor claims Budd voted against building the wall on the southern border.

What are the facts?  The bill  McCrory cites was a Democrat amnesty for illegals bill that was dressed up with some wall funding.  The little bit of wall funding tacked on was just a carrot to try to get amnesty for illegal aliens. When McCrory complains about Budd's vote against that bill, McCrory is really signalling that McCrory himself is pro-amnesty.  At the same time in Congress, there was another bill that appropriated much more money for the wall and did not include amnesty.  That was the bill Budd voted for, not the McCrory-favored amnesty bill.

Like his soul mate Thom Tillis, McCrory has a history of being soft on illegal aliens.  One of his early acts as governor was to circumvent North Carolina statute to award NC drivers licenses to DACA illegal aliens.  His preference for the amnesty bill fits the pattern.

Polling shows that Ted Budd is the strongest candidate against Democrat Beasley, beating her by 7 points, while McCrory is the weakest candidate against Beasley, losing to her by 2 points.

Greg Murphy is running an ad that is at best a half truth, and is really a lie. He says "his opponent" is a lifelong Democrat. But Murphy has 4 opponents and does not say which one! Tony Cowden is NOT a lifelong Democrat, and is Murphy's top opponent. So it appears that a minor opponent has been a Democrat and by not specifying which opponent, Murphy expects voters to falsely conclude it is Cowden. Murphy is being sleazy, dishones, and underhanded and we do not need that in a Congressman.

Another political lie being spread in Beaufort County comes from the campaign of Butch Oliver who is calling his conservative opponent Donald Shreve "a liberal from New Jersey". In fact, Shreve is a native of Forsyth County, North Carolina and has lived many years in eastern NC. While Shreve wants to take meaningful action against Critical Race Theory in Beaufort County Schools, Oliver has helped sweep the issue under the table and put up a fig leaf. Shreve will be a voice for parents, while Oliver is a lackey for the school bureaucracy, particularly the superintendant. Shreve is the conservative in the race.

We sure do not need another person in Congress that supports rewarding law breakers. The only action for coming to this country illegally should be immediate return to their home country. Then they should be put on a list where if they do apply for a visa, amnesty or a green card they have to wait at least 40 years as a consequence for coming here illegally in the first place.
