Who is John Galt? Who is John Boehner? And why am I still preaching? | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's note (Stan Deatherage): Brant Clifton wrote two short pieces on Friday, and I am writing one today in the publisher's note. Does anyone really care?

I ask this because America is at the precipice of a deep chasm that we are teetering upon before the great fall, or possibly will we avoid the fall, and begin to rebuild the Republic from within with a public that actually cares about their country and themselves.

After the General Election - 2012, where the top of the ticket was claimed by the most divisive, ineffective, unqualified president of my lifetime, Candidate Barack Hussein Obama, I have to wonder.

Publisher's note Continued: First we begin with a short missive of the Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, by Brant Clifton, who gets just how sorry the majority of the voters are - the ones that put Candidate Obama back into office - adn just what nebulous the position that awaits the Speaker in his "bare knuckles" Conservative online publication known as The Daily Haymaker ere below, and then we continue to Brant's second missive.

Boehner: waving the white flag BEFORE the shooting starts

Prior to Tuesday's vote, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid emphatically told the media that he and his crew in the Senate WOULD NOT work with a President Romney. That's apparently OK. However, after the vote, House Speaker John Boehner is telling President Barry that he is "ready to be led."

Oh, yeah. King John says we can forget about any resistance to the implementation of ObamaCare:

Asked whether he will make another attempt to fully repeal the Affordable Care Act, Boehner said "the election changes that" and "ObamaCare is the law of the land."

In that same article, Boehner spoke favorably about striking a deal with Obama that mirrors the 1986 tax deal between Democrat Speaker Tip O'Neill and President Reagan. You know, the one that jacked up taxes, grew government, sent the country into a recession, and cost the GOP a Senate majority. Yeah, THAT ONE.

Let's review. The Democrats can fight like dogs to obstruct and kill ANYTHING a Republican president brings up -- and that's * FINE*. That's all about doing what your voters want. Apparently, the national GOP believe the media narrative that they must compromise -- a/k/a giving the Democrats EVERYTHING they want.

Spending HAS to originate in the House. The GOP has the numbers there. In the Senate, the GOP HAS the numbers to sustain a filibuster. Why not fight?

Vanishing Republicans?

The movie "Atlas Shrugged: Part I" --
Ayn Rand and George Orwell are starting to look like real prophets.
based on the legendary book by Ayn Rand -- featured a story line about people disgusted with the state of the country who simply hang it all up and drop out of society. Part II is now making its way through the theaters. But we may be seeing the plot of the book and the movie playing out in real-life here in the good ol' US of A.

It's now been learned that THREE MILLION Republicans who voted for John McCain in 2008 DID NOT VOTE in 2012. If they had showed up and voted, Romney would have won the popular vote by nearly 200,000.

Are we to believe that Republicans were more impressed with John McCain than Mitt Romney? Or have they, like the successful people in the two movies and Rand's book, simply given up and dropped out?

Publisher's note (Stan Deatherage): Brant Clifton may be right about Republicans, who, at this stage in America, are arguably, as a group and by far, the smartest, hardest working, most loyal and patriotic Americans left standing.

With a president who has proven to be just a community organizer busting up pieces of America to give away to his vast followers for their votes and allegiance: When do the competent and the diligent start walking away, stop creating jobs and just do as most of Candidate Obama's legions do ("until the other people's money runs out"), and just do nothing, but live out the rest of days in some measure of peace?

There will be one marked difference between the Community Organizer - in - Chief's followers, and those who emulate the Ayn Rand creation of the retreat of the successful "job creators" in "Atlas Shrugged" - they will retreat to where ever on their own resources, and not that the public's - if they is a Republic left.
