Phil Berger leads sellout on Obamacare Medicaid expansion UPDATED | Eastern NC Now

follows Berger's leftwing sellouts on Green New Deal and Bathroom Privacy (HB2)

ENCNow

Defying a recent poll showing NC Republican voters are overwhelmingly opposed to the Obamacare Medicaid expansion. Senate President Phil Berger is leading the charge for legislation to impose the Obamacare Medicaid expansion on North Carolina.  The bill he is pushing is SB149 and it would give Roy Cooper everything he has been demanding on this issue.

Berger, once a conservative stalwart, has morphed into a Democrat in Drag, hwlping Cooper with major left wing legislation like NC's Green New Deal, the repeal of Bathroom Privacy legislation, and now the Obamacare Medicaid Expansion..

In the House, fellow Democrat in Drag Speaker Tim Moore also supports this sorry surrender to the far left, but the Republican House caucus voted unanimously to oppose it.

UODATE:  The sellout happened on the Senate floor this afternoon.  All but two "Republicans" voted as Democrat Socialists following Comrade Berger.  Thank you Senator Norm Sanderson (R-Pamlico) for standing firm for conservative principles.  The state senator Beaufort County inherits in redistricting, Sen. Jim Perry (RINO-Lenoir) not only sold us out by voting for this far left Obama monstrosity, but he was active in corralling Republican Senators to vote for it.  Conservatives need to gear up to primary this goober in two years.

The Republican state House caucus has again unanimously voted against taking up the Obamacare Medicaid expansion.  Rep. Keith Kidwell is working hard to help keep the House in line against this awful bill.

Agreed on RINO Jim Perry. I will leave the state senate line blank on my ballot in November. We have got to do better in 2024. This Perry dude does not seem much different than a Democrat.

Jim Perry is a disgusting RINO who needs to be primaried in 2024. He was also a key player in giving North Carolina the Green New Deal which will jack up our electric bills a lot and probably bring us blackouts. Perry is an opportunist who serves the special interests and the liberals, not the Republican voters.

The 3rd District Republican Party has sent out a legislative alert asking Republican activists to contact their legislators to oppose SB149, the Obamacare Medicaid expansion bill. A legislative day of action for party leaders to go to Raleigh to fight this liberal bill is being organized.

Conservatives should contact Republican legislators to communicate their opposition to this bill. In our district, Keith Kidwell is solidly in opposition to the Medicaid expansion but Jim Perry in the Senate is heavily funded by Big Medicine and he needs to hear that Republican voters oppose this bill.

The main number at the General Assembly to contact any legislator is 919-733-4111

Area legislators to call include Steve Tyson (Craven), Bob Steinberg (Senate - Chowan), Jim Perry (Senate), Bobby Hannig (House - Currituck), Michael Lazzara (Senate- Onslow)

Senator Norm Sanderson and Representative Keith Kidwell both prominently mentioned opposition to Medicaid expansion in their campaign advertising for the primaries this year.
