Getting a Handle on Covid’s Impact on Schools | Eastern NC Now

    Gauging the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on K-12 enrollment and instruction is no small task. Yet that's just what the American Enterprise Institute tries to do with its new Return 2 Learn Tracker. The tracker "monitors over 8,500 public school district's instructional status on a weekly basis." It identifies which schools are offering fully in-person, hybrid or fully remote instruction. In addition, it also provides instructional status, and tracks enrollment and Covid spending across demographics and districts.

    Yes, some of the data is available elsewhere. Still, the beauty of the AEI's Tracker is that it provides reams of data, offers context, as well as a visually pleasing format.
