Ohio to vote on Consitutional Amendment to prohibit foreign citizens voting | Eastern NC Now

will stop local governments allowing foreigners to vote in local elections

ENCNow

The Ohio village of Yellow Springs modified its charter to allow foreign citizens to vote in village elections, something we are beginning to see from Democrats across the country.  The Ohio legislature has taken action to put a stop to such nonsense, putting a Constitutional amendment on the November ballot limiting voting to US citizens and specifically prohibiting local governments within Ohio from allowing it in their local elections.  The bill to put the amendment on the ballot passed the House by a wide margin and passed the Senate unanimously.

Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and North Dakota have provisions in their state Constitutions already limiting the vote in state elections to US citizens, but none of them prohibit local governments from allowing it in local elections.  Ohio will be the first to do that.

It seems like this would be a great idea for North Carolina as well.

What is also needed is severe penalties for non-citizens registering to vote and even more severe penalties if they actually vote. Those offenses need lengthy mandatory minimum sentences. Lock them up!

Isn't allowing people illegally in the country to vote in elections, foreign interference in the elections?
