Google competitor Brave Search completes 2.5 Billion searches first year | Eastern NC Now

Brave Search is privacy and free speech oriented

ENCNow

Google's censorship and data selling policies have become a concern to many internet users.  Last year, the privacy and free speech oriented bowser Brave launched its own competing search engine, Brave Search, which does not skew results for political or ideological reasons like Google does, and does not sell users data.  Brave built its own search architecture so it does not have to use a Big Tech company for any of its functions like DuckDuckGo does.

In its first year of operation, Brave Search has handled 2.5 Billion searches.

I ditched the Peoples Republic of Google several years ago; not caring for their selling my data which invaded my privacy, and their leftwing bias in search results and outright censorship. I have been using DuckDuckGo, but they get their results through Bing, which is at least not as politically biased as Google, and they claimed they did not sell data. It turned out however that their arrangement with Bing allowed Bing to be able to obtain at least some of the user data. What is so appealing about Brave Search is that their whole system is owned by them, Thus there is not the backdoor data collection as happened at DuckDuckGo. I am all in on trying it. ANYTHING but Google.
