Former President Barack Obama, a Democrat, wrote a scathing letter to his former White House physician, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), after the doctor publicly criticized President Joe Biden's apparent cognitive decline.

Jackson, who has routinely commented on Biden's concerning health, shared with Fox News the email Obama allegedly sent him.

"I have made a point of not commenting on your service in my successor's administration and have always spoken highly of you both in public and in private," Obama wrote. "You always served me and my family well, and I have considered you not only a fine doctor and service member but also a friend."

"That's why I have to express my disappointment at the cheap shot you took at Joe Biden via Twitter," he continued. "It was unprofessional and beneath the office that you once held. It was also disrespectful to me and the many friends you had in our administration."

"You were the personal physician to the President of the United States as well as an admiral in the U.S. Navy," the former president added. "I expect better, and I hope upon reflection that you will expect more of yourself in the future."

Jackson first shared last year that Obama scolded him over his commentary on Biden.

"He just tore me up," Jackson said on a podcast with Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), the Washington Examiner reported. "It was unbelievable."

"An entire page about how disappointed he was in me and how it's beneath me as a physician and beneath me as an officer in the military to be attacking Joe Biden like this," the doctor explained. "And it was a betrayal of the trust that he and his administration put in me and he was so disappointed in me and yada, yada."

During the same podcast, Jackson again expressed his concerns about Biden.

"All I know is that he's got age-related cognitive decline, right. He is not mentally fit right now," he asserted. "He's 78 years old and you can see it. You don't need to be a physician to look at him and to look at his behavior and some of the other stuff, just the way he shuffles away, stares off into space."

"I know what that job entails, both physically and mentally, and how demanding it is. And I can tell you right now, I'm 100% sure that Joe Biden is incapable of doing that job," the doctor added.

"That was embarrassing," read one of Jackson's tweets about Biden that likely set off Obama. "There is something so obviously wrong with Biden's cognitive fitness it was hard to watch. He should NOT remain President for another SECOND. We deserve better - MUCH better."

He also reportedly tweeted, "Remember the cognitive test that I gave [Donald Trump]? The one he aced! Sounds like somebody else might need some testing done!! Scary!!"
