Breaking and Entering in the Chocowinity Area | Eastern North Carolina Now

    On November 9, 2012 at approximately 9:35 am, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report of a Breaking and Entering and Larceny on Cayton Road in Chocowinity, NC. Deputies responded to the scene and learned the suspects entered a fenced area and broke into numerous storage containers on the property. The suspects stole various car parts and recyclable metal. Some of the stolen property was discovered at OBI Sheer Steel in Chocowinity.

    Investigations conducted interviews and executed a search warrant at a suspect's residence. As a result of information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Investigator Scott Williams applied for and obtained warrants charging Jimmy Wayne Ball Jr. age 32, of Antler Drive in Washington and Mark Shane Tripp, age 36, of Chapel Branch Road in Chocowinity with four(4) counts each of Felony Breaking and Entering, three(3) counts each of Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and one(1) count each of First Degree Trespassing. Ball was also charged with two (2) counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses.

    On November 30, 2012, Tripp was arrested by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division. Tripp was taken before Magistrate Eric Holmes and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $12,500.00 secured bond for these and other charges. Ball is still at large.

On 04/13/2023, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Officers with the Washington Police Department and Probation Officers conducted a search of Germaine Williams residence located at 829 Boston Avenue in Washington.
On 03/11/2023, Patrol Deputies assigned to the Aurora area served arrest warrants on Anthony Bragg, 32 years of age, of 1824 Bay City Road in Aurora.
On 02/7/2023, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Shaquel Collins, 29 years of age, of 113 Days Inn in Washington.
