Publisher's note: Here below is NC Senator Bill Cook's first communique with his constituents, and all others that he now represents in the North Carolina Senate District one stretching from Washington to Duck, north Carolina. We hope that there will be many more.

First, I want to thank all of you folks who worked so hard to help me win this Senate Seat. I am truly humbled at the extent of work performed so well, by so many. May God bless you and hold you in the palm of his hand.    It is only through the efforts of folks like your selves that this state and this county will be able to be that shining city on a hill that is an example to the world. I am sure that the recounts would not have come out in my favor if it weren’t for the efforts of so many vigilant folks. Thank you.

January 6 at 6PM will be date and time for the local swearing-in ceremony for your now certified winner of the election for Senate District 1. The ceremony will be held in the Beaufort County Court House in Superior Court Room 218. The address for the Court House is 112 West 2nd St., Washington, North Carolina. Immediately after the swearing-in ceremony there will be a reception held at the On the Water Front Restaurant on Water Street also in Washington. I hope you will be able to join me in this celebration of our efforts and this beginning of a historic change in the political incumbency of District 1.
