Reliance on wind and solar slam European energy market | Eastern NC Now

Europe is facing a massive energy crisis in price and availability and many politicians and climate activists want to blame it on Putin, but the shortages and skyrocketing prices started months before the Ukraine crisis and are instead the result of the EU's "Green Deal" pushing a Net Zero approach to CO2.  Czech Republic President Milos Zeman was one of the realists, recently calling out Europe's power crisis as a result of "Green madness".

The fact is that electric rates in Europe were skyrocketing months before the Ukraine crisis as the mandates of the EU Green Deal hit home.  Poland's prime minister, announcing a 40% hike in electric rates told his countrymen "what we have is the expensive climate policy of the EU."

Some countries frontran the EU climate policies by years, with Germany's Energie Wende being the earliest.  That transition saw Germany's electric rates push up to over three times what we in North Carolina pay even before the EU Green Deal was enacted.

Now Germany faces a problem other than just cost.  Energy experts have told them that trying to run an electric grid off of weather-dependent intermittent sources like wind and solar will make the grid unstable and lead to mass blackouts.

The Australian, one of that countries major newspapers, has warned that the skyrocketing electric rates from depending on wind and solar that are now plaguing the UK and leading to energy poverty are a foretaste of what is to come from the Labour Party's climate policies in their own country.  The article on the newspaper's site is behind a pay wall, but it is republished at Stop These Things:
