New UK PM Truss pushes for cheap and reliable energy | Eastern NC Now

appoints small "c" Conservative Rees-Mogg to key energy post

ENCNow

The UK's new prime minister, Liz Truss, has signaled that she will be putting cheap and plentiful energy for citizens ahead of Boris Johnson's "Net Zero" CO2 delusion.  She has appointed a leading small "c" Conservative, Jacob Rees-Mogg to head the key energy ministry within her cabinet.  Rees-Mogg, who was a leader of the Brexit movement has long been an advocate of "producing every drop" of oil and gas.

Rees-Mogg has indicated he will push for maximum oil and gas exploration in the North Sea and for ending the British ban on fracking.  Eliminating the green energy tariffs on electricity is also on the table.  Truss' new Chancellor of the Exchequer is also on board with Rees-Mogg's approach to energy.

It appears that Truss will probably pay lip service to Net Zero but dismantle all the levers to enforce it that Boris Johnson created. Those levers are a big factor in the UK's current energy crisis.

Truss has also appointed an immigration hardliner as Home Secretary, a powerful position that overseas such key roles as the police and immigration.

Truss has now announced her plans on energy to parliament, which include lifting the ban on fracking and full exploration and development of North Sea oil and gas.

Who will be our champion to push for cheap and reliable energy here in the US? President Trump certainly would be at the national level, but who in North Carolina? Phil Berger and Tim Moore have sold out to the Net Zero enemy on energy. Maybe Mark Robinson?

The UK is to be commended for its U-turn away from Boris Johnson's climate crazy madness.
