Brothers of Italy going from 5th rank to largest party
FURTHER UPDATE: With about 70% of the vote counted, it is confirmed that the 3 party coalition of the right has won comfortable majorities in both houses of the Italian parliament.
UPDATE: Exit polls on the Italian election show that the 3-party right wing coalition, led by Giorgia Meloni's ultra-conservative Brothers of Italy has won majorities in both houses of the Italian parliament.

The latest polls show the ultra conservative Brothers of Italy, named after a line in the country's national anthem, leading for tomorrow's Italian parliamentary election. The party ran in fifth place in the last election, and focusing on opposing "wokeness" is a big part of the reason for its surge. Party leader Senator Giorgia Meloni is tipped to become Italy first female prime minister, as her allies the populist / nationalist anti-immigration Lega Party of Matteo Salvini, and the Forza Italia Party of former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi are also running strong. Meloni served in Berlusconi's last cabinet.
With all three right of center parties running strongly against illegal immigration, Meloni set her party apart by hitting "wokeness" very hard and it has paid off. "Yes to natural families, No to the LGBT lobby, Yes to sexual identity, No to gender ideology, Yes to the culture of life, No to the abyss of death!" Meloni has declared. She also called for a naval blockade of the coast of North Africa to stop the migrant boats.
