Glenn Greenwald Excoriates The Left: ‘Democratic Politics Is About Criminalizing Opposition’ | Eastern North Carolina Now

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald unloaded on the Democratic Party over the weekend, calling them out as authoritarians who did not just want to win, they wanted to criminalize their opposition.

Greenwald began by responding to a tweet from The Prospect managing editor Ryan Cooper, who had complained about the fact that prosecutors had recommended not to indict Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) in relation to a sex-trafficking probe.

    "Chickens*** club," Cooper tweeted.

Greenwald pointed out that Cooper had not even delved into the possible reasons prosecutors had decided the way they did, tweeting, "This is a perfect illustration of how authoritarian so many Democrats are. This Democrat doesn't know or care why career DOJ prosecutors decided the evidence was insufficient to prosecute Matt Gaetz. What he knows is that Gaetz supports Trump and thus wants him imprisoned."

"I can't stress this enough: at its core, Democratic politics is about criminalizing opposition to their party and ideology," Greenwald continued in a second tweet. "Dissenting ideas are 'disinformation' and must be censored by Big Tech. Trump voters are inherently criminal ('insurrectionists') and should be imprisoned."

"In Oct. 2021, we produced this video to assemble the mountain of polling data and other quantifiable evidence demonstrating how Democratic Party loyalists and liberal activists are now classic authoritarians. They are what they accuse others of being," he concluded.

Greenwald has been sounding the alarm - against both Democrats and corporate media - for repeatedly choosing one narrative and stifling all others, usually to protect Democratic candidates or elected officials. He even went so far as to leave the outlet he co-founded -The Intercept - after being asked to whitewash an article addressing the reversal of COVID messaging during the George Floyd protests of 2020.

"In June, I was drafting an article on this flagrantly politicized reversal of COVID messaging. When @theintercept editors learned this, they commissioned an article - for the same day - to argue racism, not COVID, was the greatest health crisis, so everyone *should* go protest," he explained.

After leaving The Intercept, Greenwald said the outlet had also censored his articles about Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden, and the president's past dealings with China and Ukraine.

Considering what is being reported as the most divisive presidential speech - September 1, 2022 - in modern American history, where over 74,000,000 people, many of whom are OUR greatest patriots, were named as fascists by inference or otherwise: Is Joe Biden clearly capable of governing all of the American People to the betterment of this Representative Republic?
Yes, it is important that Haters are named.
No, Joe Biden cannot accept criticism when the real truth is his cruelest taskmaster.
I have no idea what is going on because I only consume Democratic Socialist Media.

Was it a judicious ploy for Joe Biden's FBI to execute the unprecedented raid of President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate?
Yes; the Cheneys despise this former Republican president, and for good reason ... so they say.
No; never has a former president been treated with this level of vindictive abuse by those temporarily in power.
  Who cares? It's Trump.

Inarguably, the policies of the Democrats in congress and Joe Biden as the Executive is plunging the United States into a recession, if we are not already there; a recession that was completely avoidable. Will abrupt changes in policies occur in time?
Yes, the Democrats have a bold plan, yet to be revealed, to save us.
No, there will have to be a complete undoing of the damage done by these Democrats.
I can't do simple math, so how am I to understand the concept of basic economics.

Considering that Joe Biden is considered by so many to be the Imposter President: Is he actually knowledgeable enough, wise enough, patriotic enough to be this Constitutional Republic's president at this difficult point in these tumultuous times?
Yes, Mr. Biden is thoughtful and kind, and just so different from the "Orange Man".
No, this representation of "president" is either too corrupt, too stupid, or both to be a real president.
I just want the fun guy, who knew how to make stuff work back.
