polls show tight race in open, Democrat held seat
President Donald Trump and his Save America PAC have endorsed conservative Republican congressional candidate Sandy Smith in NC's First District in eastern North Carolina. The district is an open seat but has continuously been held by Democrats since Reconstruction. Polls are now showing Smith in a tight race against a liberal Democrat.
