Green energy craze could cause long blackout after hurricane | Eastern NC Now

wind and solar very vulnerable

ENCNow

Democrats Biden and Cooper, as well as their RINO flunkies Phil Berger and Tim Moore want us to depend on "green energy" - wind and solar - for our electricity needs.  Not only will this make our electric rates skyrocket, but a hurricane could cause a weeks or months long blackout.

Conventional power plants have historically come through even major hurricanes very well.  Not so, highly vulnerable wind turbines and solar panels  Hurricane Maria, for example knocked out 62% of "green energy" on the island of Puerto Rico.

The downing of transmission lines will also increase because unlike conventional power plants where a lot of power production is done in a large plant, wind and solar are scattered all over with a lot more feed-in lines to go down.

Berger and Moore's NC Green New Deal, HB951, wants 70% of NC's energy to come from these unreliable sources by 2030. The bureaucrats and "woke" Duke Energy are already scheming on how to do that. If this madness is not stopped, what would happen if a major hurricane caused the same level of damage to wind and solar production in NC?  It would take months to get much of this back up and running.

Here are photos of a wind turbine and a solar farm devastated by hurricanes:
