Highest rate since 1982 | Eastern North Carolina Now | Consumer price increases have been at or above 5% for 17 straight months.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Press Release:

Consumer price increases have been at or above 5% for 17 straight months.

Core inflation - stripping out food and energy inflation - increased at the highest rate since 1982.

Index measurements - in almost every way you look at the numbers - were above expectations.

What does that mean for American workers? Real average hourly earnings fell 3% since last year, marking the 18th month in a row - ever since Biden passed his $1.9 trillion stimulus - in which inflation has outpaced wages.

Biden is the Pay Cut President.
