DailyWire+ has acquired exclusive film and television rights to Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged," and will develop a series based on the groundbreaking 1957 novel, company co-CEO Jeremy Boreing announced Thursday.

Plans for the series follow a year of blockbuster content, including the internationally-acclaimed documentary, "What is a Woman?" and the gritty western starring Gina Carano, "Terror on the Prairie." Boreing announced plans for the streaming series at a livestreamed town hall address in which he also revealed that DailyWire+ has now surpassed one million paid subscribers.

"When we decided in 2020 to launch into entertainment, my vision at that time was to bring Ayn Rand's seminal work on the creative power of economic freedom and the terrible consequences of its loss to the screen as a premium series," Boreing said. "The obvious problem, we thought, is that we would never be able to get the rights to such a culturally ubiquitous work. I was wrong."

"Today, I am thrilled to announce that DailyWire+ has acquired the exclusive rights to one of the most influential books of the 20th Century," he added.

The company announced its launch into entertainment in November 2020 and released its first feature-length film, "Run, Hide, Fight," in January of 2021. It has since released six more feature-length films and documentaries.

Boreing vowed that the series will be true to the book's message, plot, and character archetypes. The book - which has sold over seven million copies worldwide - champions Rand's theory of objective reality and morality. Set in an over-regulated, dystopian United States and told from the perspective of railroad executive and protagonist Dagny Taggart and the fiercely individualistic leader John Galt, it promotes the theme that self-interest is not only the most moral, but also the only viable way to organize society.

Boreing and Daily Wire co-founders Ben Shapiro and Caleb Robinson are producing for DailyWire+. Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk are producing for Bonfire Legend. John Aglialoro and Harmon Kaslow are producing for Atlas Distribution Company. Scott DeSapio, Joan Carter, and Danielle Cox executive produce.

The deal was negotiated by Sonnier and general counsel Joshua Herr on behalf of DailyWire+, Roger Arar and Kaslow on behalf of Atlas Distribution Company, and Tim Knowlton of Curtis Brown Ltd. on behalf of the Peikoff Family Partnership and the Estate of Ayn Rand.
