DeSantis Has Strong Lead Over Trump In New 2024 Primary Poll, Beats Biden In Popular Vote | Eastern North Carolina Now

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has a seven point lead over former President Donald Trump in who Republican voters want to see as the party's 2024 presidential nominee, according to a new poll released this week.

The Economist/YouGov poll found that Republican voters want DeSantis over Trump, 46% to 39%, and Independent voters also want DeSantis over Trump, 34% to 21%. For all voters, DeSantis had a whopping 15-point lead over the former president, 43% to 28%.

DeSantis beat Trump in every demographic that the poll measured except among Hispanic voters, as the two candidates were tied 37% to 37%.

    DeSantis beat Trump in the following demographics: Men (+6%), women (+20%), whites (+15%), blacks (+17%), 18-29 year olds (+12%), 30-44 year olds (+1%), 45-64 year olds (+18%), 65+ year olds (+19%), income <$50k (+6%), income $50-$100k (+22%), $100k+ (+15%), 2020 Biden Voters (+21%), 2020 Trump Voters (+11%), Democrats (+19%), Independents (+13%), Republicans (+7%), Liberals (+5%), Moderates (+19%), Conservatives (+18%), Urban (+8%), Suburban (+19%), and Rural (+11%).

The poll comes after a poll from YouGov last week found that DeSantis had gained an advantage over Trump in who Republicans wanted to see as the party's 2024 nominee.

"More Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents now say they'd prefer DeSantis (42%) as their 2024 presidential nominee over Trump than say they'd prefer Trump to DeSantis (35%)," the survey found. "That's a reversal from nearly a month ago, when - according to a Yahoo News/YouGov poll of U.S. adults - just 35% preferred DeSantis and 45% said they preferred Trump."

People who considered themselves to be strong Republicans were split evenly between the two candidates, but Independent-leaning Republicans supported DeSantis by a more than 2-to-1 margin.

Recent polls conducted at the state-level have found similar trends among voters.

One poll, commissioned by the Club For Growth, found that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had overtaken Trump 48% to 37% in Iowa, 52% to 37% in New Hampshire, 56% to 30% in Florida, and 55% to 35% in Georgia. Trump had previously led DeSantis in all of those states, as recently as just a few months ago, in that same poll. A separate poll, conducted by CWS Research, found that DeSantis is now up over Trump in the state of Texas by 11 points. Last month, Trump led DeSantis by 17 points.

A new poll released by Democrat pollster Stan Greenberg found that Trump beats President Joe Biden (D) in a 2024 matchup by 2 points while DeSantis beats Biden by 4 points. The poll also found that DeSantis "would give Republicans their best margin ever among Hispanics," according to Visto Media founder and Republican strategist Giancarlo Sopo.

"It's not surprising that as Americans grow tired of Joe Biden's lackluster economy and rising crime in our cities, they see Florida as a great state and Gov. Ron DeSantis as a strong leader," Sopo told The Daily Wire.

In the most recent Midterms Election, the "Republican Red Wave" turned out to be a "Republican Red Ripple," which, as in all elections, confounded the political prognosticators of what to expect down the governing /political road: What, and who, do you think is best for this meandering Representative Republic in the near future?
Because they know how to best allocate the public's money back to the right part of the public, the Democrats will NOW always prevail and get my vote.
With patriotic pragmatism the cornerstone of the best of the Republican Party, they will ultimately save this Constitutional Republic from self-destruction.
Since the Executive Branch is so important to turn this Representative Republic around, I am still on Team Trump in 2024.
Since the nation may need a different path to Conservative patriotism in the Executive, I am joining Team DeSantis.
Because I am entitled to take the government dole, the prevailing favoritism whenever possible, I will support any, and every Democrat candidate.
