    As soon as the news broke that Ineitha Lynnette Hardaway - Diamond of the pro-Trump influencers Diamond and Silk - had passed away suddenly on Monday, liberal critics began claiming that she had died of COVID after speaking out against the vaccines.

    Diamond had previously been hospitalized in November - and despite rumors suggesting that she had been fighting COVID then, she returned to her show in December to call those reports "fake news."

    Temple University professor Marc Lamont Hill was among those criticizing Diamond - and perpetuating the claim that she had died of complications from COVID.

    "Diamond -of the right-wing, Trump- loving duo Diamond and Silk- has died. In late November, she was hospitalized due to COVID-19. The duo was fired by Fox News a couple years ago for spreading misinformation about COVID-19 and vaccines. You cannot script this stuff," he tweeted.

    Chef and TV host Andrew Zimmern joined in as well, adding, "Some of saddest news each day, reports of Covid deniers, those who thought it a myth, dying of Covid Lynette Hardaway, aka 'Diamond' from the MAGA Trump supporting duo Diamond and Silk, died from contracting what she frequently called 'a hoax'. Please stop believing the lies!"

    "Lynette Hardaway, aka 'Diamond' from the MAGA Trump supporting duo Diamond and Silk, died from contracting what she called 'a hoax' better known as COVID-19. The irony is palpable," Bishop Talbert Swan tweeted.

    "Diamond and Silk were fired from Fox News for pushing COVID conspiracies and tonight, Diamond died from COVID. It just writes itself, doesn't it?" Chris D. Jackson commented.

    "MAGA / anti-vaxxer 'Diamond,' of Diamond and Silk, has died ... of Covid. Please people, protect yourselves and get vaccinated," USA Today's Michael J. Stern tweeted. "Covid is still killing 2,000 Americans a week. Because people ignore it, does not mean it has gone away."

    The Daily Beast political reporter Will Sommer urged caution, however, noting that Diamond's official cause of death had not yet been revealed - and adding that the original article claiming that her November hospital visit had been the result of COVID did not appear to have any reliable source.

    "I'm seeing claims that Diamond of Diamond and Silk-a Covid-19 vaccine hater-died of Covid and was hospitalized for it in Nov. But truth is her cause of death isn't clear yet, and the Nov. claims that she had Covid came from a Blavity article that appears to have been deleted," he said.
