GOP compromise unintentionally creates universal firearm background checks | Eastern North Carolina Now

Submitted by Gun Owners of America,

Remember the Cornyn-Murphy Compromise that Gun Owners of America and our members warned Congress about? We were loud and clear about how this legislation did nothing to end mass public murders and only infringed on gun owners' rights.

We attempted to warn elected officials. Nevertheless, Congress rushed to sign gun rights away, including 15 Republican Senators who enabled the passage of the "Bipartisan Safer Communities Act."

Fifteen Republican Senators stabbed gun owners in the back by voting for S. 2938 which will:

  1. Bribe states with tax dollars to impose Red Flag Gun Confiscation laws;¹
  2. Broaden the definition of who is a gun seller  thus increasing the number of FFLs  which becomes a backdoor way to impose Universal Background Registration Checks for almost every gun buyer;²
  3. Impose federally-mandated waiting periods on certain adults before they can purchase rifles;
  4. Disarm other law-abiding adults for non-violent misdemeanors; and more.

We want to make sure that GOA members NEVER FORGET the names of every Senator who voted for this gun grab:

Blunt
Burr
Capito
Cassidy
Collins
Cornyn
Ernst
Graham
McConnell
Murkowski
Portman
Romney
Tillis
Toomey
Young

Of course, that worthless scoundrel Thom Tillis was one of those who sold out gun owners. He stabs conservative voters in the back constantly. If memory serves, RINO Congressman Greg Murphy voted wrong on that one, too.

I appreciate Gun Owners of America, which is the dependable gun rights organization. The NRA has become too squishy, especially on its endorsements.
