NC Senate RINOs join Democrat left's war on the suburbs | Eastern NC Now

The Obama regime took aim at the suburbs, trying to suppress local zoning to scatter low income housing through middle class neighborhoods.  The Biden regime has renewed that effort.  When federal efforts fell short, leftwing Democrats in places like California tried to do this at the state level.

Now a pair of RINO state senators has hooked up with a Democrat to push this war on the suburbs in North Carolina.   Senators Paul Newton (RINO-Cabarrus) and Tim Moffitt (RINO- Henderson) have co-sponsored SB317 to allow developers who play ball with this scheme to ignore local zoing laws.  Newton is the Senate Majority Leader.

This promotion of Obama policy comes hard on the heels of Newton and Moffitt voting for a party of the signature issue of the Obama regime, the Obamacare Medicaid expansion.  This pair of Obama Republicans also voted last year for another Obama / Biden major policy, the Green New Deal.

Maybe this is to be expected from this pair.  Thom Tillis was one of those who suggested Moffitt run for the legislature.  Newton is a former executive of the very "woke" utility monopoly Duke Energy, which is eaten up with the ESG dogma.
