new poll: most oppose trannies in sports and puberty blockers for kids | Eastern North Carolina Now

poll of American voters by YouGov for The Economist magazine

ENCNow

A new poll of American voters for The Economist magazine by the major British polling firm YouGov reveals that most Americans are opposed to the major tenets of radical gender ideology.  The Economist is a major British news magazine that is one of the oldest in the world that is still published.  It considers itself to be classically liberal, supported small government and low taxes, but in the last few decades has tended more to the left on many social issues including gay marriage.  The poll surveyed 1500 US adults in early April.

The poll found that on biological men being allowed to participate in womens sports, 55% of Americans are opposed while only 32% support that.

On requiring schools to tell parents that their children are requesting use of different pronouns from the biological sex, 60% support requiring the school to tell parents while 26% oppose that.

On the issue of allowing parents to provide their children with puberty blocking drugs that temporarily delay puberty, 53% oppose allowing parents to do that, while 32% support it.  The number would undoubtedly be even higher if the question did not use the word "temporary" since in fact those drugs have generally proven to have life long negative impacts.  Also if the question involved someone other than parents doing this, it also would undoubtedly be even higher.

Nah, just messing around. I have no idea how their polling was done. In truth, Big Bob not a fan of Trans women competing in female sports at the middle school and high school level. That said, I think the reaction to it has turned into a Lynch mob. Big Bob is even less fond of Lynch mobs. If some sanity could prevail, I think we could find some common ground on the subject.

In this case, there is a polling firm respected around the world, doing a poll for a publication that has a longstanding reputation for objectivity, and, if anything, a bias that runs against the results of the poll. Yet, the poll results are not what you want, so you challenge it?

Absolutely not. Polls, if conducted properly provide reliable information. If not, they dont. The classic example is the BO. The BO is fond of publishing polls. They have a new one weekly. I would say they are so poorly designed as to yield no information but its actually worse. They are designed to yield information the BO promotes. Completely self serving and useless. So JS, I think polls are fine, I just understand their limitations. Surprised a smart guy like you doesn't.

So you are a Poll Denier now, Big Government Bob? But I guess that is part of the far left's mentality these days. When it does not fit your narrative, you whine that it must not be true.
