War on History: Egypt furious that Netflix portrayed Cleopatra as black | Eastern NC Now

Egyptian government officials are furiious at Netflix's woke history in its upcoming series on Cleopatra which portrays the ancient Egyptian ruler as being black.  Antiquities experts with the Egyptian government point out that it is well documented that Cleopatra had white skin and Hellenistic (Greek) features.  Mostafa Waziri, head of the Supreme Antiquities Council of Egypt calls Netflix's portrayal of Cleopatra "a falsification of Egyptian history."

They are probably lucky that Netflix did not go for full woke and also falsely portray her as homosexual or transgender.
