commercial fisherman captures seat for GOP

ENCNow

In another good omen for 2024, Republicans flipped a Democrat legislative seat in Maine on Tuesday.   Commercial fisherman Abden Simmons won the vacant seat, which had been won by a Democrat last November, in a 52%-48% victory.  The seat became vacant when the previous Democrat incumbent was arrested for election fraud in forging signatures to qualify for public campaign funding and he resigned.
