deSantis trumps Trump on immigration / border | Eastern NC Now

stakes out stronger border / immigration position than Trump

ENCNow

Florida Governor Ron deSantis has staked out a position on the border that is stronger than that of President Trump.  Governor deSantis supports finishing the border wall and the other border security measures pioneered by Trump, but he goes farther.  He has advocated delegating immigration enforcement powers to the states to supplement what the federal government is doing, including allowing states to deport illegal aliens. deSantis has called for increased actions by the federal government to enforce our immigration laws including deporting those here illegally.

deSantis has become the first major candidate to call for ending recognition of citizenship by birth alone, saying the US should join most developed countries in basing citizenship upon the nationality of the parents, not where someone is born.  The governor also calls for cracking down hard on the Mexican crime cartels which are involved in human smuggling and drug smuggling.

I would be happy with either deSantis or Trump. We simply have to get rid of that disaster named Biden.

I like deSantis' plan to use the military to go after the Mexican crime cartels. A century ago, we used our military to go after Mexican bandits who while a threat were not as dangerous to our country as today's Mexican crime cartels. In the current era, we no longer have to send our cavalry across the border as we did before. Now we can send a few Reeper drones and blast crime cartel drug labs, headquarters, and safe houses with Hellfire missiles. Put the bastards out of business for good. deSantis is ex-military himself and has the guts to do this.

Trump and deSantis are both solid conservative candidates, and I would be happy with either. Neither of them has a drop of RINO blood. Nobody else running comes close.

I have been a Trump fan since 2016 on immigration, but I think I am now becoming an even bigger deSantis fan. The idea of delegating immigration enforcement powers to states is a great idea. We have a whole lot of deportation we need to do, and letting the states help in that is a masterstroke.
