Neighboring landowner awarded $135 million for solar farm pollution | Eastern North Carolina Now

A federal jury in south Georgia has awarded a neighboring landowner $135.5 million from a set of solar farm companies for severe pollution of their land from runoff from the  large solar farm next to them.

https://www.cfact.org/2023/06/06/solar-farm-runoff-pollutes-property-couple-awarded-135-million/

Calling solar "clean energy" is a bad joke.  Solar panels, mostly made in China, contain numerous hazardous substances.

This raises the question of when Beaufort County will enact a solar energy ordinance with any teeth?  Shouldn't our landowners be protected from this hazard?

And it is not just solar.  Wind energy has also been a source of pollution.  Four wind energy companies operating in the Chatham-Kent rural municipality of Ontario have been criminally indicted for multiple felonies of polluting the groundwater.  Public officials warn farmers there not only not to drink or cook with their well water, but that it is so toxis not to even bathe in it.  Ireland has had a 5 million euro environmental fine imposed when a wind farm developer's runoff led to a massive fish kill.

Beaufort County has no wind energy ordinance at all.

And we also have to remember that the RINO legislative leadership last year rammed through NC's Green New Deal, HB951 which will put a lot more of this crap across our state.  Thanks, a lot, Senator Jim Perry, a big proponent of HB951.

What's going on in America and its adjacent waters is called El Nino. It is a cyclical weather pattern caused by water termperatures in the Pacific which has gone on as long as there have been people around capable of recording it.

True pollution from burning fossil fuels is negligable in the western world thanks to scrubbers on smokestacks, but you climate crazies want to call CO2 (a necessary nutrient for plants), "pollutions" which it is not. Even there, the "carbon footprint" of a wind turbine is massive. stopthesethings.com

Then there are all the trees cut down to build the land intensive wind and solar farms. Asked on an FOI request, Scottish Forestry, the official government agency, calculated that 13.1 million trees had been cut down just on government land in Scotland to build wind and solar farms. They did not keep records on private land. That is a lot of trees that are no longer taking in CO2 in photosynthesis and releasing oxygem. And the same thing is happening in all countries that jump on the wind / solar crazy train.

How does this compare to the pollution caused by burning fossil fuels?

I'm so glad that my heart, my concious, and my soul will not have the burden of forever guilt because I, for any reason but especially political power and or profit, yielded favor to the CCP.

It is clear that ultimately HB 951
favors those that want to control we the people. It is sickening that there is not an on going effort to repeal HB 951. That I simply do not understand. Those of you that got your arms severely twisted, where are you?

Here is an example of pollution dumped on neighbors by a fire in a wind turbine in New York. The bond posted by the wind turbine owner was far short of the damages from fiberglass particles spewed on their property.

And these turbine fires are increasingly common.

Solar panels are sources of other pollution as well. The EPA says they can be a source of GenX contaminants, for example nsjonline.com

GenX has been a huge environmental problem in southeastern North Carolina.

Sediment pollution because they did a poor job controlling erosion. Wouldn't be the first time that happened. Fixable. Yawn.

Wind turbines also contain serious carcenogins, primarily in the fluids in their gear boxes. These can be released when the wind turbine leaks or catches fire, as many of them. do.

Those living near solar farms should have their land tested. There might be a big payday from solar farm owners and operators.
