Production House Behind ‘Sound Of Freedom’ Addresses Rumors Of AMC Sabotage | Eastern North Carolina Now

The studio behind the hit film "Sound of Freedom" said Thursday that rumors of AMC Theatres trying to sabotage the movie are unfounded.

Videos online have gone viral insinuating AMC made it intentionally difficult for people to view "Sound of Freedom," which deals with the horrors of human trafficking. In one TikTok post, for example, a woman says her tickets were refunded without notice, and she was suspicious when the theater told her the refund was due to air conditioning issues.

"We understand there are rumors - predominantly in social media - that AMC theaters have made it difficult for fans to see SOUND of FREEDOM in local AMC theaters, and we want to make it clear these rumors are not accurate," Brandon Purdie, Head of Angel Theatrical Distribution, said in a press release sent to The Daily Wire.

Purdie said AMC "has been an outstanding partner for Angel Studios," adding that AMC has actually agreed to add additional screens for "Sound of Freedom" this coming weekend due to the film's stellar performance.

"Angel Studios and the producers of SOUND OF FREEDOM are asking our fans to support AMC, and all of our other theatrical partners," the executive added. "Summer is the busiest season for people working in theaters, so we ask that anyone attending a screening of SOUND OF FREEDOM show kindness to their local theater staff. We have the best movie fans in the business. Let's continue to show theaters the love that Angel supporters are known for."

In the first eight days of its release, "Sound of Freedom" earned more than $45 million at the domestic box office, according to Box Office Mojo. It also earned a coveted A+ CinemaScore, The Daily Wire noted.

But some supporters said it was a challenge for them to watch the film at AMC Theaters. In one viral TikTok video, a woman says her tickets and others' tickets were refunded because the theater's air conditioning wasn't working. She suggests the move from AMC is suspicious.

Mainstream and left-wing media outlets have trashed "Sound of Freedom," suggesting it panders to far-right audiences and conspiracy theorists. Notably, some of those same outlets have covered child sex trafficking in places like Colombia in the past.

"We preordered our tickets, paid for them," the woman says in the video. "At some point today, our tickets got refunded to my friend." She said the theater told her, "We refunded all the tickets because there's no air conditioning in our theaters."

"We get to thinking, why did they not send out a notice in an email and say, 'Hey, we refunded your tickets because there is no air conditioning.'"

"There was air conditioning in the lobby, there was air conditioning in the hallways, there was air conditioning in the bathrooms - not the theaters?" she questioned. "I smell something stinky."

It has been far too many years since the Woke theology interlaced its canons within the fabric of the Indoctrination Realm, so it is nigh time to ask: Does this Representative Republic continue, as a functioning society of a self-governed people, by contending with the unusual, self absorbed dictates of the Woke, and their vast array of Victimhood scenarios?
Yes, the Religion of Woke must continue; there are so many groups of underprivileged, underserved, a direct result of unrelenting Inequity; they deserve everything.
No; the Woke fools must be toppled from their self-anointed pedestal; a functioning society of a good Constitutional people cannot withstand this level of "existential" favoritism as it exists now.
I just observe; with this thoughtful observation: What will happen "when the Vikings are breeching our walls;" how do the Woke react?
