Local school board kicks state superintendant out of meeting | Eastern NC Now

state superintendant was opposing parental rights measure

ENCNow

A local school board has shown where it stands on backing parental rights against the state education establishment.  When the Chino Valley, California school board met to discuss a local policy to inform parents if their children identified as being the opposite sex at school, State School Superintendant Tony Thurmond arrived to oppose that measure.  The local school board responded by kicking him out of the meeting.  After kicking Thurmond out of the meeting, local school board president Sonja Shaw accused him of "proposing things that would pervert children."
