"woke" banks under fire in UK after de-banking Farage for political views | Eastern NC Now

Refusing banking services due to a customer's political views is under heavy fire in the UK, as the major banking group that includes the 331-year old bank that closed the accounts of Brexit leader Nigel Farage for his political views saw its stock plunge 3% in a public backlash and its CEO forced to resign.  CEO Allison Rose has had to resign her 5 milliion pound ($5.2 million) a year position and there are calls for the entire board of the banking group to resign.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer have gotten personally involved in demanding that banks cease and desist from their "woke" culture of looking at the political views of customers.  The cabinet minister whose department covers banking convened a virtual banking summit with major bank CEOs, reading them the riot act over "woke" culture.  He demanded that the banks agree to a policy of "non-discrimination based on lawful freedom of expression" and all did so.
